When you need an external antenna
Metal enclosures
Steel panel boxes and metal plant rooms act as Faraday cages, blocking cellular signal from internal stub antennas. An external antenna solves this immediately.
Basement & underground
Basements, sub-levels, and underground plant rooms typically have insufficient cellular signal for reliable alarm communication. An external antenna mounted at roof or street level fixes this.
Marginal fringe areas
Remote or semi-rural sites where built-in antenna gives intermittent signal. A higher-gain external antenna provides the margin needed for reliable operation.
